[Review] Lacuna Coil - Broken Crown Halo

 

 

I was so thrilled when Cristina Scabbia announced in her Instagram in the end of 2013 that Lacuna Coil will release their 7th album called Broken Crown Halo at the early year of 2014. IMO, overall this album is better than their last album Dark Adrenaline (2012), except of course the tracks "Give Me Something More", "Kill The Light" and the super sweet cover song of R.E.M "Losing My Religion", always be my fave ones of Dark Adrenaline album. But in the Broken Crown Halo, they dare to add some new atmospheres of a darker, bolder and more powerful music, packed with honest lyrics. I feel some new Lacuna Coil who still keep their 'signature' style of musicality.

 

Try listening to "Die & Rise", "I Burn In You", "Victims" and "One Cold Day". I particularly love "Zombie", "Die & Rise" and "One Cold Day". The piano in the track One Cold Day is somewhat soul-sucking, mind-blowing and surreal at the same time. And in Die & Rise, I looove love love when Scabbia sings her mother tongue lines,

Risorgero in ogni momento poiche
So che in vita si tramutera

I hope their next album will have the same kind of hardness and softness in their music simultaneously. And seriously, they need to sing a full gothic metal song in Italian language. I dig it <3

Morning rain, morning people... Assalamu'alaikum ^^

To those who are being suffered by the flood all around this lovely country... Be patient and strong, ok? Rainbow will come after storm attacks us, I do believe in that sentence - literally or metaphorically.

I just concern with one thing, please please please... From now on, let's not being so ignorant about the daily trash we throw. Just don't throw them carelessly - moreover in the river and gutter. We know now that nature never lies. We'll harvest what we've planted, and now we're harvesting it through flood. Feels shitty, right? That's why I feel like punching one's face every time I see her/him throwing garbage at any place but trash can. I'd better put the trash in my bag temporarily if I don't see any trash can nearby then to throw them carelessly, seriously. Do not act like uneducated person, hey capital residents.

Btw I just arrived at work, Alhamdulillah safe and sound and still waiting my hubby to text me if he arrives at his office too. Feeling so hungry & cold, let's have a (late) breakfast & listen to the soothing playlist, shall we? ;)

[Review] Samson Meteor Condenser Mic with USB Plug.

Salam 'alaikum!

This is one quite different review that I make. I won't be reviewing make up / cosmetics / movies / music album... But I will review this amazing stuff which I bought 2 months ago. It's a Samson Meteor Condenser Mic with USB Plug! This babe costs for IDR 540.000. Actually in market you won't be able to buy this mic with the mentioned price. In store, this mic is sold for IDR 660.000. Yeaps, I know someone who can give me this stuff with rather cheaper price of course, LOL.

I was caught up by the unique shape of it. Looks more of an iron jellyfish, LOL. But this thing is amazing! It has 25mm diaphragm condenser for rich audio recording & cardioid pickup pattern. For the audio, it is set on smooth, flat frequency response of 20Hz-20kHz with 16-bit, 44.1/48kHz resolution for CD quality. And back to the shape, the fold-back leg design provides optimal mic positioning.

I have been doing cover songs / voice notes for my band's / duo's new songs with this mic. It helps a lot! Just put your mouth more or less 6 inches from the mic and you'll have the clear voice output and intonations. I don't even have to do much editing, mastering & mixing with this. But please note that this is best use for recording acoustic instruments (guitar, flute, bass, cajon, etc) and vocal (podcast, home recording, video broadcasting etc). But I don't suggest you to use this mic for making pro album because I don't think this mic has all the needed requirements of a pro microphone. It is more of an acoustic / home recording babe.

The only weakness I found on this mic is the "bh" and the "ph" sound you'll get when your mouth is too close to the mic. You'll need a pop-filter to get rid of that noise.

Aside from that, I proudly announce that I am fully satisfied with this mic for a price that doesn't hold a breath. For you who are searching for an affordable yet best-quality in its class, you can rely on this USB-plug mic ^^

[Daily style] Aahh... At last

Salam 'alaikum!

After been in ups and downs with GELAP, for the first time of history... I finally have my own band's t-shirt! LOL. Really, I'm not exaggerating... Gelap has released 3 or 4 types of t-shirt if I'm not mistaken... But I never really HAD ONE! Hahaha, I don't know. Everytime I asked the manager bout the tees, it always sold out. It left 3 kinds of questions in my mind; Was he lie? Or was it a limited edition? Or is Gelap that famous? (The last question is absolutely stupid, LOL).

I have written in my Twitter timeline that someday I'll be doing Melanie C cover song. And amazingly I found this amazing Youtube account that has uploaded his guitar cover for this song [Credits are below]. Frankly speaking I love Mel C so much! Nobody here might have known that I used to be the Spice Girls' biggest fan back then at 1996 - 2000 and I particularly adore Mel C. She's just the real singer for me. And yes, she proves it! She might be the only Spice that achieves success in her solo career life. Love her <3

[Cover Song] Paramore - Decode

Salam 'alaikum!

I can't get enough of Paramore.

Friends of mine have been requesting me to do Paramore cover song, in which I don't mind at all. I just do it one at a time :) Another request is to do the cover song recorded in a video instead of audio. Well, to be honest I've been thinking of that. Since my husband @budie-deathlust has sold his Jackson guitar, I don't have any acoustic duet sparing for a while till he buys a new guitar. But I actually have another name in mind. Just told him bout the idea, he said okay and now we just have to compromise with the time management for doing the cover song video.
